HOME SITTING

If you will be away for an extended period of time and prefer your furry– perhaps furless, feathered, scaly or slimy– pet(s) to stay overnight in your own home, this care option is for you! During home sitting, I aim to keep your pet(s) as close to their everyday routine as my schedule allows. This includes, for example, feeding, medicating, and exercising them appropriately by making either many short or fewer, longer visits to your home throughout the day and staying overnight. 

 

I do not breed discriminate. However, this service caters to a breadth of animals that goes far beyond just dogs and cats. In other words, home sitting includes dogs, cats, fish, birds, turtles, guinea pigs, livestock, bunnies/rabbits, and any and all both living as well as non-human species you own as a pet. Indeed, any and all animals must be accounted for in the overall price, for my insurance policy will not cover any emergency accidents, injuries, etc. if a pet is not officially filed as under my care during the duration of my stay. 

 

If requested, I am happy to complete household chores/tasks such as watering flowers, bringing in the mail, taking garbage/recycling bins to the curb, etc. Homesitting rates are priced higher than the other main alternative, being boarding. Simply put, this boils down to three central reasons and factors to consider. First, home sitting requires the upkeep of the owner(s)' both pet(s) as well as homes. Second, home sitting requires gas compensation in order to make consistent trips to your home/pet(s). And finally, home sitting requires time spent away from our own homes and families to be there for yours! Please read the policy sheet posted on our contact page regarding homesitting so that you are fully aware of all that this service entails.

SERVICES & RATES

$55/night per 1st dog (+$45/night per additional dog)

Dogs (>15 mos.): 

Puppies (<15 mos.):

$50/night per puppy

Cats:

$23/night for 1st cat (+$5/night per additional cat)

Aquatic Rate:

$10/night per fish tank

HOLIDAY RATES (*PLEASE READ DATES BELOW*):

Dogs & Puppies: $58/night per dog/puppy

Cats: $30/night for 1 cat (+$5/night per additional cat)

*Please inquire about rates for species not listed above, as miscellaneous pets are priced on a case-to-case, typically hourly basis (i.e. birds, snakes, rats, ferrets, guinea pigs, bunnies/rabbits, lizards, live/farmstock, etc.).*

Additional Fees & Cancellation Policies:

  • ***Any bookings requesting a 3 PM end-time on the last day of service are charged a half-rate daycare fee of $15 ($18/puppy) unless the service start time is past 3 PM or later on the first day.***

  • ***Prices and rates may vary depending on the distance.***

For 3-day stays, our home sitting cancellation policy is as follows:

• A full refund is available if canceled at least 48 hrs. prior to the service.

• If canceled later than 48 hrs. prior to service, a 50% refund is available.

• If canceled 24 hrs. before the service begins, booking is nonrefundable.

For stays of 3 days or more, our home sitting cancellation policy is as follows:

• A full refund is available if canceled at least one week before the service begins.

• If canceled less than a week before the service begins, a 50% refund is available.

• If canceled 48 hrs. or later prior to the service, booking is nonrefundable.

That being said, I understand that we are human. Emergencies happen, plans change. If, for whatever reason, you must change/cancel a booking, please notify me as soon as possible by phone, text, or email. You will find I am very willing to allow flexibility. All I ask is that you are respectful of my time and I promise I aim to always be reasonable and nothing short of respectful of yours.
